The old 5/2 ADA HQ building when I was here in 1996 to 1997
My old motorpool when I was with 5/2 ADA
Side view of the 5/2 ADA HQ building.
The old dining facility where I used to eat.
My old barracks. Still kept the same name even though another unit moved in when 5/2 ADA was inactivated.
B 5/2 ADA maintenance bays at the far end of the building.
Another view of the barracks.
The old 1st ID HQ building before they left Germany. Turned into the legal office.
Back view behind the barracks. I remember when that was gravel parking prior to putting in the actual parking places.
Used to be part of the old Amusement Center and to the right was the Barber Shop.
Used to be the Movie Theater prior to shutting its doors. Seen many movies there.
Shot down post from the main intersection on post. Goes down to the Garrison HQ building. Service Credit Union on the left.
Shot up post with a view of the sign to the Shoppette. This was the gas station/convenient store. Further up was the bowling ally. Played a quite a few games there back in the day.
Shot down to what used to be the main street coming in from the main gate.
MP station. Used to be the shoppette and video store wayyyy back in the days. More modern than the old MP station on the other side of post.
Base Chapel. Think I was in there one time for a unit function.
Another shot of the MP station.
This was the Community Center. It housed the Outdoor Rec and community room. Library was a floor up along with the wood work shop and top floor was UMUC.
Used to live in this barracks too. Was on the top floor with the really small windows on the other side of the building.
Map of Bamberg. Interesting part of this shot is that it still refers to 279th BSB. That changed years back to USAG Bamberg. USAG is United States Army Garrison.
Front shot of my old barracks. Was never that color back in 1996 or 1997.
A look down the street to to my old motorpool and such.
The old car craft shop. Spent many times working on a few of my cars here. Local hangout with many of my friends.
The old 5/2 orderly room.
The old HHB 5/2 motor bays. I used to work in those.
Used to be a bridge that crossed over Berliner Ring to the other side of post. Did not have enough foot traffic, so they tore it down about 7 years ago.
